Kenje Ogata (June 1, 1919 – January 18, 2012) was one of five documented ''Nisei'' to serve in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
==Early Years==
Kenje Ogata was born June 1, 1919 in Gary, Indiana, the son of Clay Kamezo and Wai (Mitsuda) Ogata.〔Kenje Ogata Obituary, http://www.obitsforlife.com/obituary/458544/Ogata-Kenje.php〕 As a young man he grew up in the Sterling, Illinois, participating in Boy Scouts and graduating in 1936 from Sterling High School.
